Dear Friends,
I think we have made an impact in Lansing this first term as State Representative for the 65th District.
I also believe we have set Michigan on the right course for the future. I hope you agree.
Two year terms go by very fast and, before you know it, it is campaign time again. I have taken some strong stands on behalf of reforming and reinventing Michigan, resulting in positive jobs trends.
If you agree we are on the right track then I would appreciate your consideration for financial support as we prepare for a tough campaign this summer and fall. There are two specific opportunities I would like to bring to your attention.
First, a repeat of a very fun and successful event. On May 19, Michigan International Speedway hosts the third annual Great Lakes Wine and Beer Fest. This is a well attended and entertaining day where you can taste dozens of Michigan based wines and beers…and more!
We held a fund raiser last year at MIS during the Wine and Beer fest and had a ball. For a personal contribution of $200 per person, each individual ticket holder receives:
-
entry into the Great Lakes Wine and Beer Fest

-
ten wine tasting tokens, per person
-
entry into our executive suite for respite and great food
-
a ride in an official NASCAR Pace Car on the actual track
-
access to all the entertainment at the festival
-
AND, TWO BOTTLES of wine to take home!
…all for $200 per person. And, for a great cause to boot! The Festival itself runs from noon until 9 p.m. Our Fund Raiser event runs from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. during the same period.
If this does not work for you then we are also asking for your consideration of a contribution to our campaign. Any amount is helpful and will go toward making sure Michigan stays on track to achieve the economic prosperity it once enjoyed and certainly deserves.
You may easily make contributions on-line. Or, you can mail a personal check to: CTE Mike Shirkey, 11757 Sutfin Road, Clarklake, Mi 49234
You consideration of any amount would be sincerely appreciated and help us maintain our momentum toward rebuilding, reforming, and reinventing Michigan.
Thank you for your support, your prayers, and your encouragement. It is indeed a high privilege to be able to serve as State Representative. Sue will tell you, I take this responsibility very seriously.
Serving with and for you,
Mike Shirkey

Dear Friends,
I am humbled by the support and love displayed by the many people involved in this campaign. Whatever success we achieved was a result of the efforts of many. And being constantly covered in prayer. Thank you!
However, this election was not about ME, it was about WE.
Here in Michigan and across the nation the resounding message is "take us back to our Constitutional roots....restrained and limited government, valuing personal accountability and responsibility, and embracing the benefits and hopes offered by sensible free markets and capitalism."
Our mandate is to reform, rebuild and revive Michigan, together.
I look forward to serving with and for you!
Mike Shirkey

Letter From Mike’s Children

Our father is seeking to serve as the state rep for the 65th district. We have no doubt he will bring tremendous dedication and energy to the post and that he will do all within his power to support you, his constituents, while leading his fellow representatives towards wise choices for our state’s future.
Our dad has been an excellent example of servant leadership all of our lives as we have witnessed him as a father, grandfather, son, husband, coach, teacher, business leader, friend, community volunteer, board chairman, fundraiser, cheerleader, and constant initiator of new ideas. He will bring to Lansing creative thinking, strong family values, and the ability to make tough decisions when necessary.
Mike’s ninth grandchild is due in December. We know the baby will be excited to meet the world and to meet his/her grandpa, Mike Shirkey, the person we encourage you to vote for as your new state rep.
